Conor McAneney, placekicker for the Florida State Seminoles football team, was arrested on March 12, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after an incident involving law enforcement.[1][2]
The Broward County Sheriff's Office charged the Ireland native with two third-degree felony counts—battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence—and one misdemeanor count of trespassing. Bond was set at $2,000 for the battery charge, $500 for resisting with violence, and $250 for trespassing, according to jail records.[1][2]
McAneney, who transferred to Florida State from Quincy University—a Division II program in Illinois—ahead of the 2024 season, was suspended indefinitely from all team activities, the team announced.[3]
